đź›’ Ingredients


For the Chicken:

  • 4-6 chicken thighs or breasts
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • ½ tsp cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
  • Salt & black pepper
  • Juice of ½ lemon


For the Southern Fried Cabbage:

  • 1 small head cabbage (chopped)
  • 3 slices bacon (chopped)
  • 1 small onion (sliced)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes
  • Salt & pepper


👩🍳 Instructions

 

1. Season the Chicken:

Mix olive oil, garlic, paprika, Italian seasoning, cayenne, salt, pepper, and lemon juice. Coat chicken well.

2. Cook the Chicken:

Bake at 400°F for 30–35 minutes or pan-sear until golden and fully cooked.

3. Make the Cabbage:

Cook bacon until crispy. Remove and set aside.

In the same pan, sauté onion and garlic.

4. Add Cabbage:

Toss in cabbage, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper. Cook until tender and slightly caramelized.

5. Finish:

Add bacon back in, mix well, and serve alongside the chicken.
